Yaakov Chaliotis is a strategy, communications and intelligence professional with experience across global business, government and consulting, specialising in the intersection of artificial intelligence, corporate intelligence, geopolitics, digital transformation and strategic communications.
Most recently, Yaakov worked at Shell International, where he led and advised on global brand analytics and insights. Previously, he held senior digital communications roles within the UK Department for Education, including Chief Social Media Officer, covering digital strategy, online public communications and counter-disinformation. His earlier career spans technology, market intelligence, digital strategy and consulting.
Throughout his career, Yaakov has focused on turning complex and fragmented information into actionable insight. His current work increasingly centres on the practical application of generative and agentic AI, particularly how organisations can use AI to accelerate research and analysis without compromising human judgement, accountability or source verification.
This philosophy led him to found Group of Verified Intelligence (GVI) around a simple premise: AI has made analysis faster and cheaper, but trust and verification have become more valuable.
GVI combines advanced generative and agentic AI, open-source intelligence methodologies, human and robust technical verification to support companies, investors, boards and organisations with corporate intelligence, geopolitical and market-entry risk, due diligence, special-situations research and strategic decision support. Its combined human-in-the-loop and technical verification methodology clearly distinguishes between what is verified, inferred and unknown, while also identifying and mitigating fabricated or unsupported information — a persistent risk in generative AI outputs. This ensures that decision-makers receive intelligence they can effectively scrutinise, challenge and trust.
